Home-Start Lambeth was set up in 1998 by a group of local people who wanted to see a Home-Start service established for families.

The organisation has an office base in the centre of the borough, near Brixton but staff and volunteers work across the borough visiting families in their homes.

We currently have three projects running within the scheme, all providing support to families with children under 5 years of age:

Five to Thrive:

focusing on attachment primarily in the first months of a child’s life

Resilient & Ready Project:

strengthening families and preparing children for nursery

Domestic Abuse Project:

supporting families with experience of domestic abuse and running the Freedom Programme

Home-Start Lambeth is an independently registered charity and limited company, managed by a Board of Trustees who oversee the work and strategic direction of the organisation.

Home-Start Lambeth currently employs five members of staff: Lizzie Poulton Scheme Manager , Abigaile Kanini – Family Co-ordinator, Safia Mun – Family Co-ordinator, Deborah Jordan – Domestic Abuse Project Co-ordinator, and Susie Baker – Operations & Development Manager.
