TREASURER (volunteer member of the board of trustees)

Our Lambeth scheme is looking for a treasurer to join the board of trustees.

The role would suit someone who has several years experience in a senior management role dealing with finance in a business or in an accountancy firm. The bookkeeping and preparation for audit is done by a firm of accountants so the role involves overseeing the quality of their work.

Accounting qualifications are not essential but a working knowledge of balance sheets, audit procedure, and management and financial accounting and reporting relevant for small organisations is important.

A key element of the role is to help with decisions on budgets and forecast, to attend funding meetings quarterly with the scheme head and major funders and to give general advice on financial matters.
