Many parents need help, friendship, advice or support during those early years when the children are young.

- Isolated in your community with no family nearby and struggling to make friends
- Suffering with post-natal illness but finding it hard to talk to anyone about it.
- Having a hard time coping with your child’s illness
- Overwhelmed by the death of a loved one.
- Struggling with the emotional and physical demands of having twins, triplets or many children under 5 years of age.
- Tired, exhausted, unhappy.
- Recently arrived in the UK and struggling to understand what’s available or find help.
How Home-Start can help
If you live in Lambeth and have children under 5, we may be able to help. This could be by matching a volunteer with you, who would visit you on a weekly basis and provide emotional support and practical help. Home-Start volunteers are parents themselves, so they understand what you are going through. Or you may want to attend one of our weekly family groups in Vauxhall, Brixton and Streatham Vale.
Home-Start has years of experience
Home-Start is a national charity, established over 30 years ago with more than 300 schemes across the UK. Home-Start Lambeth was set up in 1997. You can rest assured that all Home-Start volunteers are fully trained and have undergone a criminal records check to ensure your child's safety. All of Home-Start Lambeth's help is free and confidential.

If you working with a family you can refer them to us - please ensure you have their consent before doing so. If a child under five in the family has a CAF just send us a copy of this - you do not need to complete a referral form.
